              Advantages of organic foods

The debate about the advantages of organic foods is over. According to a new $25-million study into organic food - the largest of its kind to date - organic food is more nutritious than ordinary produce and it may help to lengthen people’s lives and prevent disease.

50% More Nutrients

The European Union funded study found that organic fruit and vegetables have up to 50% more antioxidants, which scientists believe can cut the risk of cancer and heart disease. They have also more vitamins and minerals such as iron and zinc.

According to other recent studies, organic foods are better for fighting cancer and people eating organic food have improved immune system, better sleeping habits and are less weight than on non organic diets. Can you imagine the benefits of eating raw and organic food?

Better Taste

The taste of organic fruits and vegetables is often superior to any conventional produce. That's why many top restaurants use organic produce in their menu. Today, most fruits and veggies are manipulated to look and stay good. The strawberries from your ordinary supermarket may look great on your cake but they have virtually no taste. However, the taste of fresh organic fruits is irresistible!

Safer for Babies and Children

The advantages of organic foods might be highest for babies. The average baby is born with 200 toxins and carcinogens in its body. By the time kids reach their 2nd year, most have pasted the lethal limit for the toxins. By feeding your child organic food, it will have about 1/6th the amount of carcinogens in its blood. Eat HEALTHY

Follow these important guidelines:

1.  Before dieting, you must know your daily calories requirements.  If you are sedentary, multiply your weight (in pounds) by 15.  If you are moderately active, multiply your weight by 17.  If you are active, multiply your weight by 20.  This will give you the averagecalorie intake your body requires per day.  If time permits, set up your free consult with WOW's staff.  You will be measured, and a body composition will be done.  This way we know what your MUSCLE (LBM) and your FAT% is before you begin your new eating plan... Don't think SCALE #..... think body composition!!!  We can educate you on this... What is ideal for you? Where you stand?  Where YOUR numbers should be....

2.  Remember to eat those fruits and veggies! Have you ever tried ORGANIC? (read article below for more info) Your body functions best with at least five servings of them per day - doing this will put you on the right track to a healthy body, because fruits and vegetables have beneficial fibers, vitamins and antioxidants.  They also fill up your stomach fast so that you don't overeat and take in to many calories.

3.  Monitor and measure the quantity of food you eat.  Avoid high-calorie foods and eat in small portions.  Be sure to chew your food slowly; this will make digestion easy on your body and you will also be less likely to overeat.

4. Don't skip meals.  When you want to lose weight it may be tempting to starve yourself - but eating small amounts of food frequently can help you maintain a healthy, balanced calorie intake throughout the day.  Also, your blood sugar level will be adversely affected if you don't eat often.  You can even divide the standard allotment of three meals into five or six smaller meals which keeps your metabolism working efficiently throughout the day.

5.  Fresh fruits and vegetables are ideal - packaged and processed foods have high sodium   fat & sugar content.  You are more likely to lose weight if you eat naturally fresh foods.

6.  Don't limit your food intake too much.  Go ahead and indulge yourself;  eat your favorite treat--just do it in moderation.  It's okay to have that slice of birthday cake at the occasional party.  Use those special desserts as rewards instead of enemies to your weight loss experience.

7.  Don't believe everything you read on a food label.  "Fat free" does not necessarily mean low calories.  The same wisdom goes for foods that boast "low sugar" or "low carbs."  Glance over the nutrition label - there you will find the calorie count.  Pay close attention to the ingriedents, High sugar content is usually an overlooked ingredient that creates havoc on insulin levels.

8.  Try to limit the number of juices and sugary beverages you drink.  Instead of having those sodas or energy drinks, drink eight glasses of water each day - this flushes out your body's toxins and waste.

9.  Keep a food journal. This will help you keep track of your calorie intake and will be a daily reminder of the types of foods you need.
